Beans with Pumpkin and Turkey

This one-pot dish is easy to cook; warms and inspires with taste, smell and color; The dish is rich in nutrients that support the work of our body. In this bowl of "ala" stew we can find, among others, vitamin A, C and anti-inflammatory phytonutrients that support the work of the immune system.

The dish contains turkey meat, however the meatless version is also tasty and filling. The combination of rice and beans will provide complete proteins (i.e. all essential amino acids) that are found entirely in meat products.

2 cups chicken / turkey / vegetable broth or water

1 can of beans (red)

1 medium onion (diced)

3 garlic cloves

1 medium pepper (diced)

1 jalapeno (diced)

1 can of toasted tomatoes (400 grams)

Half a kilo of ground turkey meat

3 cups of pumpkin (diced)

1 cup red potato (diced)


Cayenne pepper


Cinnamon (optional)

Roman cumin


Optional rice, baguette and fresh coriander

  1. Add chopped pumpkins and sweet potato to the pot with decoction - cook it all over low heat
  2. In a frying pan with the addition of olive oil, fry chopped peppers and jalapeno - after light frying, add to the pot with pumpkin and sweet potato
  3. In the same frying pan, fry small chopped onions, add minced meat - lightly fry. We add the whole to the pot in a decoction
  4. Then add chopped garlic, beans, canned tomatoes and spices (at your discretion) - cook over low heat to cook the vegetables and combine the flavors
